Sukumai - The wild dreaming of a Tribe of Jewels. Suku meaning tribe in Indonesian. Forever captivated by tribal adornments and ancient cultures near and far. A strong influence and presence of these can be found in this eclectic tribe of jewels. Connecting us together.

Sukumai is the creative expression of jewellery designer Bianca, who has a pure love of creating and hand making jewels.

Inspired by nature and all things from the earth, far away places and cultures, foraging on travels and an appreciation of slow living. Each of these elements can be found throughout the collection as they are hand cut, forged, textured and set by hand. Embracing the imperfect, organic shapes and textures allows each creation to be one of a kind.

The studio is based in Rozelle Sydney. Bianca personally sources all materials, which is part of story for each design. Metals used include 925 Sterling Silver and Brass and are up-cycled where possible. The stones and crystals are hand picked from local suppliers or on her travels based on their beauty and energy. This allows Bianca to experiment with new techniques based on each of the stones and inspires the designs to organically form.

Wearing jewellery allows one to express their individuality, remind them of a loved one or reflect a special moment in ones life.

Sukumai jewels are for the wanderers, the ones who live freely and appreciate the natural world around them.

“There has always been a love of making things with my own hands. Im a bit like a Bower Bird. A forager, collector and maker. Along with travelling and discovering new cultures, Im always bringing home unique treasures to be created into something beautiful”
